Periodontology is a special branch of dentistry that deals with the prevention, diagnostics and treatment of the dental support apparatus, especially with the gingiva and bone system around the teeth. This disease begins with gingivitis (gingival) gingivitis, which can be characterized by mild redness of the gingiva followed by mild swelling and bleeding when brushing the teeth, and if left untreated, with the time comes to gum retraction and tooth disintegration. Periodontitis is one of the major causes of tooth loss after tooth decay.

Main Causes of Periodontitis:

  1. Poor oral hygiene
  2. Genetic causes
  3. Bad habits (smoking)
  4. Poorly made prosthetic reconstructions crowns, bridges and seals
  5. Existence of some other metabolic diseases

Treatment:

  1. Early detection and treatment plan
  2. Professional manual and mechanical removal of the dental stone
  3. Periodontal pocket curettage
  4. Air tooth polishing
  5. Laser regeneration of soft tissue

For successful treatment in our clinical practice we are using laser therapy and PRP.

With the help of laser light from Laser Cavo and Atlas (types of lasers which we have in our office) we can achieve a tissue sterility, and thereby destroy the microorganisms and promotes regeneration of damaged cells. All this is followed by no pain, no sewing, no anesthesia.

PRP is shortened from platelet - rich plasma. It is a product derived from the patient's blood and used in oral, periodontal, aesthetic and cosmetic surgery. It contains a high concentration of growth factors that reduce bleeding, improve soft tissue healing, and bone regeneration.
